Kanika Pathania is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. She completed her PhD from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, where her research on inverted duty structures and effective rates of protection earned her the EXIM Bank International Economic Research Award in 2021. Kanika has previously held positions as a guest faculty at Delhi University and the Indian School of Business and Finance, and has also worked as a consultant at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi.
Her research broadly covers international trade, economic policy, and the impacts of e-commerce on Indian manufacturing and MSMEs. Kanika has published in reputed journals and working papers, contributing to empirical analyses of trade policy, duty structures, and effective protection in India. She has co-authored opinion pieces and research reports on MSMEs, retail, and trade dynamics, including publications in the Foreign Trade Review and Global Business Review.
Kanika has actively participated in international and national workshops, conferences, and summits, including STEG 2022 in London, IIFT Conferences, and seminars organized by DSE and IIFT. Her work has been recognized with scholarships and awards, including the Ford Foundation Scholarship and the Amul Vidya Bhushan Award.
